This past weekend in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jared Tebo and AKA took home their first two 1/8 ROAR OFF ROAD NATIONAL TITLES by winning both Truggy and Buggy. This was also the first time that one driver has won both prestigious titles in a single weekend.
Tire selection would prove to be very important over the week as we saw temperatures as high as 95 degrees during qualifying and cold wet conditions for the finals.
In qualifying, Jared TQ'd the Truggy Class using AKA SOFT Truggy GRIDIRONS (#14103SPW), AKA wheels (24101W, 24101Y) and AKA closed cell grooved inserts (34101MG). Right before the Truggy main a rain shower blew through and changed the track conditions completely. This caused everyone to reconsider their tire combinations for the main. Jared opted for the AKA Super Soft Truggy GRIDIRONS (#14103VPW) for the 45 minute final. The Super Soft GRIDIRON combination proved to be the perfect tire combination for the conditions as Jared was able to finish one lap up on second place in the final.
In the buggy class Jared was strong all weekend and ended up qualifying second overall. In the one hour final, Jared used AKA Super Soft buggy GRIDIRONS (#14003VPW). The AKA super soft compound not only hooked up great in the damp cold conditions but lasted the entire one hour final with tread still left.
CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to Jared Tebo for an amazing job and to all of our customers out there who have supported AKA in our first 3 years of business. We are just getting started!
