1/8th Buggy Wheels AKA's 1/8 buggy wheels were designed by racers for racers. Since our wheels and wheel tooling are made right here in the U.S.A. we are better able to control the quality of our products. Innovations: Superior Mold Technology: Revolutionary full-diaphragm gate molding keeps the wheel true and ensures a more uniform flow of material throughout the entire wheel. That means AKA wheels are more balanced, consistent in their performance, and stronger than other wheels made using conventional molding techniques. Micro-Finish Texture: All AKA wheels come with a high-quality surface texture on all the bead mounting areas. By adding this texture to bead area of the wheels, it creates more effective surface area and “tooth” on which the tire glue can bond. The wheels are also molded with a special additive that promotes a stronger glue bond. Mold Accuracy: AKA wheel molds are made right here in the U.S.A. using the latest in precision mold-making technology. This results in better quality control to deliver the best possible product to AKA customers. Strength: The strength of the wheels is very important – not just for the racer, but for all enthusiasts who value quality products. AKA uses a high-quality modified nylon that’s specially blended and refined by the designers’ decades of racing experience. The materials have been rigorously tested to the toughest standards to deliver the best possible performance, durability and value. Notes from the team: AKA wheels come with two vent holes that come in dented in the wheels so the customer has the choice to open the holes or leave them closed. Most racers tend to let the tire breath by punching a hole in the tire instead of the wheel. This keeps the foam clean and extends the life of the foam as well.
